Work plan The Cartesian Plane These examples show a Cartesian plane with no graphs or geometric figures. It is
an empty plane, with its coordinate axes, a net of lines passing through the points with
integer coordinates and three parameters to control the scale and
the location of the origin determined by the coordinates O.x
and O.y measured in pixels with respect to the center of
the window. In this examples the only tools used are COLOR and SPACE. The first example uses the default colours which are white and three levels of
gray.
On the second example the scale and the
coordinates O.x and O.y
take on different values than on the first example, and the default colours have been
substituted as follows: BACKGROUND=blue, NET=gray, AXES=white and TEXT=yellow. The so called TEXT
colour is the one used to write the values of the coordinates of the point on which a left
click is performed. By dragging the mouse cursor with the left button pressed, the user
may see the coordinate values of any point on the plane.
The reader is welcome to modify the colours. For example you might
want to hide the NET by choosing the same colour for NET and for BACKGROUND.
If you wish that neither the NET nor the AXES appear, then you must choose the same colour for AXES, NET and BACKGROUND. Introduction Appetizer Examples Documentation Applications
