Deduction of the formula of the volume of a pyramid.

And so the volume of each pyramid is a third of the volume of the cube.

This helps to deduce that the volume of any pyramid is a third of the volume of the prism that has the same base and height.

The formula of the volume of a pyramid is the area of its base multiplied by its vertical height and divided by three.

The height of a figure is measured perpendicularly to its base. The vertical height of a pyramid is the distance from the apex -where the triangles of the lateral faces converge- to the plane of its base.

It doesn't matter that the pyramid is centred or inclined, it has the same volume.
