The value of a fraction
Fractions

1. The value of a fraction.

Since a fraction represents a division, we should do that division to know what the value of a fraction is. But we can only understand the value of a fraction if we pay attention to its numerator and denominator.

The larger numerator, the larger the value of the fraction will be; and the larger denominator, the smaller the fraction will be.

If the numerator is smaller than the denominator, then the fraction is less than 1.

If the numerator is the same as the denominator, then the fraction is 1.

If the numerator is larger than the denominator, then the fraction is more than 1.

Take each fraction to the corresponding rectangle according to its value.
