The powers of integers
Operations with integers II

1-a. The powers of integers.

Power is a repeated multiplication: we multiply the base number by itself as many times as the index shows.

Esta unidad interactiva requiere la máquina virtual de Java J2RE.

In this window you can change the base numbers and the index and thus, you can also check the sign of the resulting power.

- Which sign does the power have when the base is a positive number?

- Which sign does the power have when the base is a negative number and the index is an even number?

- Which sign does the power have when the base is a negative number and the index is an odd number?

1-b. Solve these powers.

If your answer is correct, the result will appear next to the process of the operation in the window, but it won't appear if the number is wrong.

To type a new number you have to delete the previous one.
