The division of integers
Operations with integers II

1-a. The division of integers.
Esta unidad interactiva requiere la máquina virtual de Java J2RE.

Division is the inverse of multiplication.

dividend ÷ divisor = quotient

divisor · quotient = dividend

Dividing is finding the number by which you have to multiply the factor to get the dividend.

Distribute the numbers below so that these multiplications can be done correctly.

1-b . Do these divisions of integers.

The division of integers satisfies the same rule of signs as the multiplication of integers.

(+) ÷ (+) = +

(+) ÷ (-) = -

(-) ÷ (+) = -

(-) ÷ (-) = +

Division is not an internal operation in the set of integers numbers.
That is, when dividing two integers, the result may not be another integer.
What is more, you can never divide by number 0.
However,  these activities always show possible divisions and the results are natural numbers.

Distribute the numbers below so these divisions can be done correctly.

Type the result of each operation.
After typing the number you must click on Enter.
When you type the right number it will appear in the window. If the typed number is not correct, it will not appear.
